Deborah Dunn serves as Professor of Communication Studies at Westmont College, where she has taught since Fall 1997 with expertise in organizational communication, dialogue, and conflict transformation.
Education:
- Ph.D. and M.A. in Communication Arts and Sciences, University of Southern California
- B.A. in Speech and Communication with emphasis on social movements, San Francisco State University
Her research examines grassroots peacemaking organizations and public square dialogue facilitation, manifested through eight summer study abroad programs across Northern Ireland, South Africa, Germany, Israel/Palestine, and Spain's Camino de Santiago focusing on conflict, memory, and pilgrimage.

- Teacher of the Year (2008)
- Teacher of the Year (2022)
As co-director of the Westmont Center for Dialogue and Deliberation, she leads institutional initiatives in conflict resolution while designing experiential learning through international programs that connect classroom theory with real-world reconciliation practices.
The Westmont Center for Dialogue and Deliberation operates as her primary academic hub, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration on dialogue frameworks and conflict transformation methodologies across campus and community contexts.
