Deborah Castro Mariño is an Assistant Professor in Media Studies at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Arts. Her research focuses on audience studies, television studies, and the intersection of media consumption with technology and culture. She holds a cum laude PhD in Communication from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2016) and has held postdoctoral and visiting positions at institutions such as the Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute and Erasmus University Rotterdam.
