Debbie Plager is an Instructor in the MS in Learning and Organizational Change Program at Northwestern University’s School of Education & Social Policy. She is also an Organizational Strategist and Executive Coach through her firm, The Plager Group. With over 25 years of experience, she specializes in coaching leaders across industries and driving organizational transformation during periods of growth, contraction, and change. Her expertise includes aligning teams, improving business results, and fostering leadership readiness at all levels, from C-Suite executives to divisional presidents.
Prior roles include Chief Talent Officer at HUB International (2021 Stevie Gold Award winner for Best Employer), Director of Talent Engagement at Relativity, and leadership positions at Unum Group and Allstate Insurance. Her work spans industries such as construction, financial services, high tech, higher education, nonprofit, and pharma.
Debbie is deeply committed to leadership development and organizational effectiveness, emphasizing sustainable business outcomes through strategic coaching and team alignment. She resides in the Chicagoland area and maintains interests in gardening, reading, and choral singing.
