Dr. Debbie Meharg is an Associate Professor at the School of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment of Edinburgh Napier University. With over 20 years of experience in teaching, management, and research, she serves as Head of Applied Informatics, co-directs the Centre for Creative and Social Informatics, and leads Edinburgh Napier’s iSchools initiatives. Her work focuses on student transitions, digital literacy, and participatory research methods.

Research interests include information science, inclusive education, and digital technology, with a focus on marginalized student populations and graphical methods like photovoice. Her recent publications examine:

- Library of Inspiration (PI, Royal Academy of Engineering, 2024–2025): A £99,711 initiative providing technology kits to underrepresented 12–13-year-olds
