Dean Baim is a Professor of Economics and Finance at Pepperdine University's Seaver College, affiliated with the Business Administration Division. He has also taught sports management at the UCLA Anderson School of Business.

Research Interests focus on sports finance, Olympic economics, and the economic impacts of professional sports on communities. His work analyzes stadium financing, Olympic sponsorships, and market behavior.
Publications include studies on Olympic sponsorships' effects on stock prices and the economic role of sports venues. Notably, his 1994 dissertation Sports Stadiums as a Municipal Investment established foundational insights in urban economics.
Current Activities include contributing to the W. David Baird Distinguished Lecture Series, where his expertise in sports economics informs discussions on integrity, service, and community engagement.
