Daïchi Saïto is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Arts, Sciences and Studies at the Roy H. Park School of Communications, Ithaca College. A Japanese-born film artist based in Ithaca, NY, and Montréal, Canada, he co-founded the Double Negative artist film collective in 2004. His work explores the intersection of vision's corporeal phenomena and film materiality, combining formal investigations with poetic expression.

Saïto's research integrates structured improvisation, exemplified by collaborations with composers Malcolm Goldstein and Jason Sharp. His films examine:
