Dawn Wing

Dawn Wing is a Lecturer in the Library department at Metro State University, where she teaches courses such as INFS 115: Information Access, INFS 315: Searching for Information—Focus on Immigrant Communities, and co-teaches WRIT232: Writing in the Digital Age. She supports incarcerated students through the TREC Program and collaborates across disciplines to enhance library science pedagogy.

• Education: BA in Studio Art and Art History (Wellesley College), MA in Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language (Hunter College), MA in Library and Information Studies (University of Wisconsin-Madison)

Her research integrates graphic narratives, zines, and bookmaking with decolonial herstories and multimodal pedagogies. She focuses on amplifying marginalized voices in libraries and communities, particularly through visual storytelling and interdisciplinary approaches.

Dawn’s recent publications include comics biographies and articles exploring the use of graphic narratives in ELL education. Her work aligns with trends in decolonial pedagogy, public art, and social justice in librarianship.
