Dawn Kalis is an Adjunct Lecturer in Music specializing in harpsichord at the Historical Performance Institute within the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. She holds a Doctor of Music from Indiana University and Master's and Bachelor's degrees from the University of Michigan.

Her research focuses on early French keyboard music, particularly from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. She has produced a doctoral document serving as a resource for students of early keyboard literature, providing an anthology of French harpsichord music alongside cultural, musical, and historical context with over 250 musical examples and visuals. Her work centers on French Baroque performance practice and historical interpretation.
She has received several awards including:
- Frank Huntington Beebe Fund for study in Amsterdam, The Netherlands
- Harriet Hale Woolley Scholarship for study in Paris, France
Kalis serves as resident harpsichord teacher for the Jacobs Organ Academy and frequently gives master classes and recitals at universities nationwide, including recent collaborations with the sacred music program at the University of Notre Dame. She also provides live musical performances for events at the Wylie House and performed for the 90th celebration of the Fondation des Etats Unis in Paris in 2020.
