Dawn Good is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology within the Faculty of Social Sciences at Brock University. She holds a Ph.D. from McMaster University and is a Registered Psychologist. Her research is conducted through the Neuropsychology Cognitive Research (NCR) Laboratory and the Neurorehabilitative Research Laboratory, both located at the Jack and Nora Walker Canadian Centre for Lifespan Development Research.
Her primary research interests include cognitive neuropsychology, acquired brain injury (ABI), traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease, memory and attention mechanisms, executive function, and social-emotional interpretation linked to frontal lobe function. She investigates how cognitive impairments impact daily functioning, community reintegration, and educational outcomes across the lifespan.
Dr. Good's recent publications focus on mild head injury, behavioral dyscontrol, stress effects on cognition, and educational strategies for professionals working with individuals with ABI. Her work consistently bridges clinical neuropsychology with practical applications in education and rehabilitation settings.
She has received support from organizations such as the Ontario Brain Injury Association and the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation. Her research emphasizes improving neuropsychological assessment tools and developing training programs for educators and rehabilitation professionals.
Dr. Good has supervised student research and presented extensively on topics related to ABI. She has authored resource manuals and published in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, demonstrating a sustained and impactful research program in clinical and educational neuropsychology.
