Davy Chinn

Davy Chinn is an Assistant Professor at Indiana Wesleyan University, where he directs the IWU Chorale and teaches conducting courses, computer applications, and aural skills. Additionally, he serves as the Community Arts Coordinator for the School of Arts and Humanities, managing outreach initiatives and coordinating the Music Academy.

• Education: Bachelor of Arts (2011) in Music Composition and Theory from Indiana Wesleyan University, followed by a Master of Music (2014) in Choral Music from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music.

Research Interests include choral conducting, fostering emerging composers, new music development, aural skills pedagogy, and music technology integration. His work emphasizes supporting young composers in discovering their unique voice in contemporary choral music.

Scientific Awards:

• Awarded mentorship with Maestro Grant Gershon through the USC Thornton School of Music’s Board of Counselor’s Mentorship Program.

Performance Highlights: Chinn has performed with notable artists such as Point of Grace, Fernando Ortega, Barry Manilow, the Gaither Vocal Band, the Rolling Stones, and Elton John. He has also participated in major programs like the Crystal Cathedral’s Hour of Power, The Thrilling Adventure Hour podcast, and the Primetime Emmy Awards.
