Davin Grindstaff is a Senior Lecturer and Director of the Basic Speech Course (SPCH 1000) at Georgia State University, where he contributes to the core curriculum. His academic work bridges rhetoric, queer theory, and legal discourse.
- Education: Ph.D. in Communication from The Pennsylvania State University (2000)
His research focuses on rhetorical studies, particularly identity construction/reconstruction and queer theory. He has published extensively in these areas, including a book on gay identity discourses and a co-authored essay on Daniel Pearl’s legacy in Critical Studies in Media Communication. Current research examines legal debates around same-sex marriage.
Grindstaff’s publications reflect a multidisciplinary engagement with rhetoric, queer theory, and social justice. His book (2005) and conference proceedings highlight intersections of political emancipation and discursive constraints.
