معرفی
David Weaver is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toledo, Ohio. He has held roles as Director of both the Flow Cytometry Core Laboratory and the Genomics Core Laboratory, contributing to bioinformatics and genomics research. His academic journey includes degrees from Bowling Green State University (B.S., Ph.D.) and Ohio State University (DDS), with postgraduate training at Medical College of Ohio and Karolinska Institutet.
Research interests include Flow Cytometry for cell sorting (human cells, bacteria, algae/diatoms), Genomics, and Transcriptomics with a focus on Carcinogenesis and Mutagenesis. His work spans quantitative gene expression analysis, DNA repair pathways, and environmental toxicology.
The 15 most recent articles highlight expertise in transcriptomics (e.g., 2016 on Francisella virulence), cancer research (e.g., 2005 on chemoresistance), and cardiovascular biology (e.g., 2021 on hypertension QTL). Articles emphasize quantitative RT-PCR, gene expression databases, and environmental carcinogens like radon.
Scientific awards:
- Personal Scholarship Recipient (Karolinska Institutet, 1999)
As a core facility director, Weaver has advanced Flow Cytometry and Genomics infrastructure. His collaborations span international institutions (Karolinska, Ohio State) and interdisciplinary teams in physiology, public health, and surgery.
