David Wald

David Wald, MD, PhD, is Professor of Pathology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He co-leads the Immune Oncology Program at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center and serves as Associate Director of the Medical Scientist Training Program. His research focuses on developing novel therapeutic strategies for acute myeloid leukemia (AML), with particular emphasis on ATP depletion-mediated differentiation, nucleoside analogues, and kinase targeting. Dr. Wald completed his MD/PhD training at CWRU and clinical pathology residency at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.

Research Interests: Cellular cancer therapies, leukemia genomics, and drug development pipelines using in vitro and murine models. Current projects investigate ectopic fat-cardiomyocyte crosstalk and redox regulation in cancer differentiation pathways.
