Dr. David Waite is a Senior Lecturer in Urban Studies & Social Policy at the University of Glasgow, affiliated with the School of Social and Political Sciences. He holds a PhD from the University of St Andrews and previously served as a Research Associate at Cardiff University. His research focuses on second-tier city-regions, inclusive growth, urban innovation, and alternative economic development frameworks, integrating economic geography with heterodox economics and critical realism. He chairs the Urban Theory Reading Group and has contributed to policy analyses on regional productivity, Levelling Up initiatives, and post-pandemic urban recovery.
Education: B.A./M.A. (University of Auckland), PhD (University of St Andrews).
