David Vernon Morgan (1941-2017) was a distinguished electronic engineer and academic, renowned for his contributions to semiconductor materials, devices, and integrated circuits. He held the rank of Research Professor at Cardiff University and served as Head of the School of Engineering (1992-2002), elevating its global reputation for research excellence. Previously, he worked at the University of Leeds (1970–1985) and held fellowships at the Cavendish Laboratory (University of Cambridge) and Harwell (1966–1970).
