معرفی
David Venerus is a Professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). His research focuses on polymer rheology, thermal transport in polymers, complex fluids, and nonlinear rheology, with a particular emphasis on elongational flow dynamics and anisotropic material behavior. He has extensively studied the rheological properties of polymer melts under various deformation conditions, including equibiaxial and uniaxial elongation, and their thermodynamic responses.
Key research interests include the molecular mechanisms governing anisotropic thermal conductivity in polymers, flow-induced phenomena in complex fluids, and the development of novel experimental techniques for characterizing rheological behavior. His work spans both fundamental studies (e.g., polymer melt dynamics) and applied research (e.g., thermal management in nanoelectronics and biodegradable drug delivery systems).
Dr. Venerus has secured 17 federal grants, including projects funded by the National Science Foundation, focusing on topics such as molecular mechanisms of anisotropic thermal transport, rheology of complex fluids, and collaborative studies on non-homogeneous flow fields. His research has led to over 100 publications, emphasizing the interplay between polymer structure, deformation, and thermophysical properties.
He has advised multiple research projects and contributed to advancements in instrumentation, such as the lubricated squeezing flow technique for equibiaxial elongation measurements. His awards and recognitions include a notable h-index of 36, reflecting his significant scholarly impact.
