David Vanzetti

Dr David Vanzetti is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the School of Agricultural and Resource Economics, The University of Western Australia. He previously held a similar position at the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University for 12 years.

His career spans multiple international organizations including the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics in Canberra, FAO in Rome, the Danish Institute for Agricultural and Fisheries Economics (SJFI), and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development in Geneva.

Dr Vanzetti specializes in general equilibrium modelling with research interests spanning agricultural economics, trade policy analysis, and climate change impacts. His work addresses critical global issues such as food security, trade facilitation, and agricultural policy development.

His research has been funded by organizations including ACIAR, UNCTAD, UK DfID, World Bank, European Commission, and DFID/AusAid, focusing on projects related to Vietnam, Thailand, East Africa, Brexit, and regional trade agreements.

Dr Vanzetti has contributed to research on diverse topics including farm investment analysis, game theory applications to international wheat markets, South African trade sanctions, desert locust control, coffee and banana policies, and agricultural aspects of the Doha Round negotiations.
