Dr David Tucker is a Research Associate in the Faculty of Science at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). He specializes in landscape ecology, biodiversity monitoring, and ecoacoustics. His work focuses on terrestrial ecological surrogacy, conservation management, and the application of novel acoustic technologies for biodiversity assessment in grazed systems. He leads biodiversity monitoring efforts at QUT’s Samford Ecological Research Facility (SERF) and the Mitchell Grass Rangeland SuperSite in Longreach.
- Affiliations: Centre for Agriculture and the Bioeconomy, Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network
- Key Responsibilities: Monitoring flora/fauna, bioacoustic data recording, soil carbon research in grazing systems
Research interests include measuring ecosystem services, non-destructive soil carbon flux techniques, and sustainable agroecosystems. Current projects emphasize soil carbon sequestration and ecological monitoring in peri-urban and rangeland environments.
No recent articles or awards are explicitly listed, though his work contributes to large-scale ecological infrastructure projects like the TERN SuperSites network.
