David Thomas

Dr David Thomas is a Senior Lecturer in Occupational Health and Safety Management at Middlesex University's Faculty of Science and Technology (Natural Sciences Department). He serves as Programme Leader for MSc programmes in Occupational Health, Safety & Environment/Wellbeing Management, and teaches undergraduate courses on Project Management, Risk Management, and Leadership/Management. Currently supervising two PhD students researching Leadership-Followership Dynamics and OSH Professional Influences.

Education includes a Senior Leader MBA completed at Middlesex University, complementing over 20 years of industry experience across private, public, and academic sectors. His research focuses on bridging industry and academia, emphasizing wellbeing, musculoskeletal disorders, occupational cancer prevention, and sustainability in waste management. Notable contributions include pioneering the LAWS Forum for Local Authorities and chairing IOSH's Environmental & Waste Management Group (2019–2023).
