David T. Brown is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and Tourism Studies at Brock University. His research focuses on sustainability theory, digital tourism, environmental management, and waste reduction. He is affiliated with the Niagara Birds Migration Data Repository and collaborates with organizations like the Niagara Parks Commission on land management plans.
His work integrates theoretical frameworks with practical applications, addressing topics such as municipal cultural mapping, trail management, and integrated waste systems. Notable publications include works on sustainable tourism practices and biodiversity conservation in Thailand. He received an award for his 2008 paper on sustainable tourism technology. Current research involves advising a funded MA candidate on heritage interpretation at Herstmonceux Castle.
Teaching includes courses on sustainable waste management, human-dominated ecosystems, and international field studies. His interdisciplinary approach bridges environmental science, technology, and community engagement.
