David Svoboda is a Czech philosopher affiliated with the Faculty of Philosophy at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic since 2002 and as an Assistant Professor at Charles University's Faculty of Philosophy since 2003. His work focuses on medieval and early modern university philosophy, particularly metaphysical problems like the ontology of relations, numbers, universals, and divine knowledge.

His research interests span metaphysics, Thomistic tradition, and interdisciplinary bridges between philosophy of mathematics and theological epistemology. His 2011 Bolzano Prize recognized his dissertation on social sciences. Publications include monographs on Aquinas's metaphysics and co-edited volumes exploring structuralism and formalism.
David's grants include GAČR projects (2013–2016, 2018–2020) and collaborations with institutions in Slovakia, Germany, and Hungary. He organizes international conferences and serves on the editorial board of Studia Neoaristotelica.
