David Schulzmann is a Researcher at Aalborg University Business School, part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, affiliated with the International Business Research Group. He holds a Ph.D. from the School of Management at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (2015–2018). His research focuses on international business dynamics, particularly in emerging markets like China, with an emphasis on sustainable development, global value chains, and technology-driven innovation. Recent work explores NGO roles in sustainable agri-food transitions and cultivated meat sector evolution. He contributed to the Sino-Danish Center Research Project on Value Chain Innovation since 2011. Active in academic networks, he organizes conferences and reviews manuscripts for journals like Technological Forecasting and Social Change.
Research interests include cross-border R&D investments, knowledge management in multinational enterprises, and the impact of digital technologies on global value chains. His projects often integrate case studies from China and developing countries, analyzing corporate strategies for sustainability and innovation.
Publications highlight trends in greenfield investments in IT sectors, NGO influence in agri-food systems, and challenges in knowledge sharing between MNE subsidiaries and headquarters. He has presented at EIBA and Academy of International Business conferences, emphasizing digitization’s role in transforming global supply chains.
