David Sayagh serves as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Sports Sciences, University of Paris-Saclay, where he conducts research on the sociological dimensions of human mobility practices.
His research examines the interplay between three key dimensions of active mobility:
- Actual practices (manners, habits, motives, distances, and conditions)
- Contextual possibilities (local policies, infrastructure, social norms, and topography)
- Individual capabilities (resources, skills, beliefs, and dispositions)
Dr. Sayagh's work particularly investigates how socialization processes in sport, urban living, ecology, and health intersect to (re)produce social relations based on gender, class, age, and territorial location. His interdisciplinary approach bridges sociology, urban studies, sports science, and environmental research to understand mobility patterns within contemporary societies.
His research provides valuable insights for urban planning, transportation policy development, and social equity initiatives by revealing how mobility practices both reflect and reinforce social structures.
