David Saperstein is a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Jewish Civilization and Georgetown University's Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs. He previously served as U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom from 2015 to 2017 and as director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism for several decades. An ordained rabbi and attorney, he has taught seminars on First Amendment law and Jewish law at Georgetown Law for over 30 years and remains a prominent commentator on religion and public life.
