Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson is Vice President of American Jewish University and holds the Abner & Roslyn Goldstine Dean’s Chair at the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies. He is a Professor in the Philosophy Department, specializing in Jewish philosophy, theology, and the integration of science and religion through a process approach. His work bridges contemporary scientific insights (cosmology, quantum physics, evolutionary theory, and neuroscience) with Jewish thought, ethics, and spirituality.

Artson is a leading voice in Conservative Judaism, advocating for LGBTQ+ inclusion, environmental ethics, racial and economic justice, and interfaith cooperation. He founded the Zacharias Frankel College in Potsdam, Germany, which ordains rabbis for Europe. His scholarship includes over 250 articles and 12 books, such as Renewing the Process of Creation: A Jewish Integration of Science and Spirit and God of Becoming & Relationship. He also launched the Walking With… series, offering free Torah commentaries and resources. A public figure with over 86,000 followers on Facebook, Artson mentors Jewish communities, including Camp Ramah in California and Northern California, and ordains rabbis globally. His career spans rabbinic leadership, social justice activism, and academic contributions to Jewish thought.
As a charter member of the Society for the Study of Judaism and Science, Artson integrates interdisciplinary research into Jewish ethics. He has advised numerous congregants who later entered the rabbinate and participated in transformative Jewish rituals, including a Beit Din for over 250 converts in Africa. His work emphasizes community building, social responsibility, and modernizing Jewish practice through theological innovation.
