David Rimm is the Anthony N. Brady Professor of Pathology at Yale University School of Medicine, with joint appointments in Pathology and Medicine (Oncology). He directs the Yale Pathology Tissue Services and the Lab for Quantitative Diagnostics. His research focuses on quantitative pathology, biomarker development, and translational assays for cancer diagnostics. Rimm completed an MD-PhD at Johns Hopkins and trained in pathology at Yale, with a cytopathology fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia.
His research emphasizes antibody-drug conjugate targets, digital spatial profiling, and standardized clinical assays. Supported by NIH, BCRF, and industry partnerships, his lab has pioneered technologies like AQUA® and contributed to over 500 peer-reviewed publications (H-index 120). Rimm serves on the CAP Immunohistochemistry committee and multiple biotech scientific advisory boards.
Key achievements include developing high-sensitivity HER2 assays and validating T-cell infiltration biomarkers. Awards include the Lauren Ackerman Lectureship (2008) and Starwood Commitment Award (2004). His work bridges basic science and clinical practice, advancing precision oncology and diagnostic standards.
