CAPT David Regis is a Navy Captain serving as the Program Manager for Deep Submergence Biomedical Development at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) School of Medicine. He holds a primary appointment in the Department of Pediatrics and serves as the Undersea Medical Officer for the Navy Supervisor of Diving & Salvage (SUPSALV).
His educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross.
CAPT Regis is a leading expert in Undersea Medicine with specialized focus on Decompression Illness. His research spans multiple disciplines including Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Malaria Vaccine Development. His publication record from 2008-2017 shows consistent work examining decompression sickness mechanisms and treatments through animal models, as well as malaria vaccine development.
