David Ramsey

David Ramsey is an Associate Professor at the T.H. Chan School of Medicine, affiliated with the Department of Surgery at UMass Chan Medical School. His work bridges Ophthalmology and Public Health, with a focus on telemedicine applications, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.

Dr. Ramsey earned his BA in Biology from Harvard College, followed by MD and PhD in Physiology & Biophysics from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and an MPH in Health Policy & Administration from the same institution.

His research emphasizes telehealth innovations for diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma, including automated screening tools and patient adherence strategies in age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Publications from 2024-2025 highlight trends in telemedicine, retinal imaging, and health services research to improve care for patients with diabetic eye disease and retinal vein occlusions.
