David Rain is an Associate Professor of Geography and International Affairs and Chair of the Geography Department at George Washington University. He holds a PhD in Geography from Penn State University. His research focuses on urbanization, environmental issues, geospatial technologies, and disaster resilience in West Africa, particularly Ghana. Funded by the Fulbright Program and National Institutes of Health, his work emphasizes geospatial tools to address environmental challenges in global south cities. He teaches courses like 'Geography of Africa' and 'Cities in the Developing World'.
Education: PhD and MS in Geography from Pennsylvania State University.
