David R. Rosas

David R. Rosas is a Supervised Fieldwork Advisor and Course Instructor at Bank Street College of Education, dedicated to educational liberation through culturally-relevant practices. With 21 years of experience, he has served as a K-7 teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal in elementary schools, focusing on marginalized communities. His work emphasizes critical consciousness, restorative classroom practices, and family-strengths based collaboration.

He is pursuing a PhD in Urban Education at the CUNY Graduate Center, researching critical-race teacher change agents who challenge systemic whiteness in elementary education. His educational background includes an EdM from Teachers College, Columbia University.

David advises students in the Progressive Education Leadership program at Bank Street, blending practical experience with progressive educational theory.
