David Paul, D.M.D., is an Associate Professor and Lead Practice Coordinator in the Department of Comprehensive Care at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM). He has served as faculty since 1990, transitioning through roles in Restorative Dentistry and Oral Diagnostic-Dental departments before assuming his current position in 2012.
- Education: BA in Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University (1985), DMD from Tufts University (1989)
- Certification: General Practice Residency at Boston City Hospital (1989-1990)
Dr. Paul's research and professional focus centers on International Public Health and Community Dental Health, with extensive volunteer work in underserved regions including Haiti, Nicaragua, Zambia, and the Dominican Republic. He has led over 20 medical/dental teams and directed TUSDM's Nicaragua Community Service Learning Experience for eight years.
Professional leadership includes service on Tufts University Senate Working Group, Dean's Special Task Force on Promotion, and the CAMBRA Committee. He co-founded the Dominican Republic's first Mobile Dental Clinic through collaboration with Nashoba Valley Rotary.
