His teaching focuses on inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, astronomy, and modern physics.
Dr. O’Dell holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a B.S. from Berea College. His research spans solute transport modeling in soils and innovative methods in STEM education. He has presented extensively on topics including rural education challenges, pseudoscience critique, and historical scientific misconceptions.
- Key Education Roles: Baccalaureate and associate programs in science
- Recent Research Focus Areas: Educational interventions for student success, critical analysis of pseudoscientific claims, and soil chemistry modeling
His presentations reveal a commitment to bridging scientific rigor with public understanding, particularly in rural contexts. While no formal grants or awards are listed, his work demonstrates significant contributions to both chemistry research and pedagogical innovation.
Labs/Teams: Active in laboratory education tool development and collaborative science outreach initiatives.
