David Norloff

David Norloff is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Telecommunications and Media Industries at Penn State's Bellisario College of Communications. With a 20-year career in wireless technology leadership prior to academia, he transitioned to education in 2007. He developed key courses including COMM 483 (Wireless Communications Industry) and COMM 484A (Wireless Devices and Global Markets).

• Education: Bachelors from Penn State, Masters from Rutgers

His research interests focus on wireless technology strategy, product innovation, and entrepreneurship education. He actively mentors through Happy Valley LaunchBox and co-chaired Penn State Startup Week 2021.

Recipient of prominent teaching awards including two Deans’ Excellence Awards and recognized as Telecommunications Faculty Marshal. Engaged in outreach initiatives and cross-functional technology projects across Penn State.

His professional experience spans leadership roles at Nextel/Sprint, managing 4G strategy and product launches like Inter-Carrier Messaging and MMS services.
