David N. Myers

Dr. David N. Myers is an Associate Professor in the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture at the University of Maryland, College Park. He has been affiliated with the university since 1999, previously serving as Director of the Landscape Architecture Program (2012–2017) and Director of the Digital Studio (9 years). His interdisciplinary expertise spans landscape architecture, plant science, and biogeography, with a focus on sustainable design and planning.

• Bachelor of Science in Plant Science (Horticulture, Minor: Community and Rural Development), Clemson University

Research Focus: Dr. Myers applies landscape ecological principles to urban and suburban environments, emphasizing green infrastructure, forest easement compliance, greenway design, and conservation planning. His teaching includes courses on GIS, green infrastructure, landscape ethics, and construction materials.

Service and Grants: He has secured funding from the Chesapeake Bay Trust, National Park Service, and Maryland Department of Environment. His professional service includes roles in the American Society of Landscape Architecture (ASLA), including national COE leadership and Maryland Chapter presidency. He has also contributed to University Senate committees and landscape architecture exam coordination.
