David N. Myers is Distinguished Professor and Sady and Ludwig Kahn Chair in Jewish History at UCLA, where he directs the Luskin Center for History and Policy and the UCLA Initiative to Study Hate. His research focuses on modern Jewish intellectual and cultural history, with expertise in Zionism, historiography, and Jewish thought.
Myers' publications include award-winning works like 'American Shtetl' (National Jewish Book Award, 2022) and 'The Stakes of History'. His scholarship examines Jewish historical consciousness, the politics of memory, and the relationship between nationalism and religion.
He teaches courses on Jewish history and historiography, and has held visiting positions at institutions including the École des hautes études en sciences sociales. Myers co-edits the Jewish Quarterly Review and is an elected fellow of the American Academy for Jewish Research.
