David Munkittrick is an Instructor of Music Leadership at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester. His professional background spans both legal practice and music. As a litigator, he specializes in complex antitrust, copyright, and entertainment law matters, representing high-profile clients such as Sony Music Entertainment, Lady Gaga, and Universal Music Group. He advises clients across industries including entertainment, healthcare, and technology on legal compliance and dispute resolution.
Active in pro bono work, Munkittrick supports clients in arts-related and immigration proceedings, earning multiple recognitions including the Empire State Counsel designation and Proskauer’s Golden Gavel Award.
Beyond his legal career, he maintains an engagement with music, performing at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall. His teaching role at Eastman integrates legal and leadership perspectives relevant to the music industry.
