David Milne is a Professor of Modern History at the University of East Anglia's School of History and Art History. He specializes in US diplomatic and intellectual history, with a focus on biography, Cold War studies, and foreign policy analysis. He has held fellowships at Yale University, the Gilder-Lehrman Institute, and the American Philosophical Society, and currently holds a British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship (2021-22).
Education includes a PhD from the University of Cambridge (2005), an MSc from the London School of Economics (2001), and a BA in History from LSE (1998). His research explores the intersection of ideas and diplomacy, with notable works including America's Rasputin (2008) and Worldmaking (2015). He is currently writing a biography of journalist Sigrid Schultz under contract with Oxford University Press.
