David Mayer

David Mayer, DACM, LAc., ACSM-CPT, NASM-CNC, is a clinician at the NUHS Whole Health Center (Lombard) since 2021 and a lecturer in the acupuncture department since 2022. He also operates DuPage Acupuncture Clinic in Naperville (opened 2016), specializing in managing cancer treatment side effects, neuromusculoskeletal pain, sleep/stress disorders, digestive issues, women’s health, and facial rejuvenation. He has assisted in over 17 successful fertility cases indirectly through acupuncture care.

Education highlights include: BS/MS in Geology (Northern Illinois University, 1989/1994), MSOM in Oriental Medicine (National University of Health Sciences, 2015), and DAc (Pacific College of Health Sciences, 2020). Certified as a personal trainer (ACSM/NASM) and nutrition coach. Named first Preceptor for NUHS acupuncture department in 2022, emphasizing clinical training for students.

His teaching philosophy focuses on bridging classroom theory to practical patient care, emphasizing observable clinical skill development. Active in both academic and private clinical settings, Mayer integrates geology background into unique interdisciplinary approaches to wellness.
