David M. Gustafson

David M. Gustafson serves as Chair of Evangelism and Missional Ministry and Professor of Evangelism and Missional Ministry at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS), which is part of Trinity International University. Additionally, he holds an affiliation as an affiliate docent at Johannelund School of Theology in Uppsala, Sweden.

His educational qualifications are as follows:

• Bachelor of Biblical Studies (BB) from Western Illinois University
• Master of Divinity (MDiv) and Master of Theology (ThM) from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School
• Doctor of Ministry (DMin) from Fuller Theological Seminary
• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Linköping University

Dr. Gustafson's scholarly work centers on evangelism, missional praxis, and the history of the Evangelical Free Church. He has authored significant books such as Gospel Witness: Evangelism in Word and Deed (2019) and Gospel Witness through the Ages: A History of Evangelism (2022), and co-edited Revising Pentecostal History: Scandinavian-American Contributions to the Development of Pentecostalism (2024). His research also explores the historical development of Pentecostalism and the heritage of the Evangelical Free Church of America.

As an ordained minister in the Evangelical Free Church of America, he serves on the Board of Ministerial Standing. He contributes to academic discourse as the book review editor of Witness: Journal of the Academy for Evangelism in Theological Education and as a contributing author to the International Alliance for Christian Education.
