David M. Garrison

David M. Garrison, M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC). He holds part-time faculty status and serves as Medical Director for both the Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry unit and the Child/Adolescent Mobile Crisis Team.

• Training: Internal Medicine Internship at University of California Keck School of Medicine (1997-1998), Psychiatry Residency at URMC (1998-2000), Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at URMC (2000-2002)

His research focuses on child and adolescent psychiatry with innovative approaches to inpatient care, including narrative therapy and strength-based care models that engage families through media. He has also contributed to medical education research.
