David Livingstone is Professor of Geography and Intellectual History at Queen's University Belfast, recognized globally for scholarship on the historical geography of science. His work examines how spatial contexts shape scientific knowledge production and reception.
Research explores science-religion interactions, cartographic history, and racial science in colonial contexts. His books include studies on Darwin's reception and the geography of scientific knowledge.
Honors include OBE for services to geography, British Academy Fellowship, and Royal Irish Academy Gold Medal. He has held visiting positions worldwide including Oxford, Notre Dame, and University of British Columbia.
