David Lee

David Lee is a Lecturer at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, affiliated with the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine. He serves as Clinic Director of the APLA Health Clinic and previously held roles at Drew CARES. His research focuses include public health, HIV/AIDS, health disparities, and clinical social work.

Lee's research spans health equity, diabetes screening, and community-based interventions. His 2022 PLoS One study on HIV outcomes in South Los Angeles highlights his focus on social determinants of health. Earlier work includes collaborations on diabetes management, hypertension, and vitamin D supplementation.

Publications trend toward public health policy, clinical trials, and health services research. His 2014 Diabetes Care article addressed triple oral therapy for type 2 diabetes in minority populations.

Scientific awards include leadership roles in the UCLA/CDU Global CFAR CAB, LA County Commission on HIV, and long-term membership in the Washington State Governor's Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS.

Lee provides clinical supervision for mental health professionals and has mentored international scholars. He is a licensed clinical social worker in California with private practice experience in Seattle and Long Beach.
