David Laws is a Clinical Skills Lecturer at the University of Worcester, affiliated with the School of Health and Wellbeing and the Department of Community, Social Justice and Health. He joined the university in 2023 after a career spanning over two decades in emergency services, including roles with the Staffordshire Ambulance Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service. David holds an FdSc in Paramedic Science from the University of Worcester and completed a Five-Day Mentor Course. He has also served as a retained firefighter with Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, gaining expertise in extraction techniques and multi-agency coordination during incidents.
His research interests align with his professional experience, emphasizing paramedic education, disaster preparedness, and interorganizational collaboration in healthcare. While no specific grants or lab affiliations are noted, his advisory work has centered on mentoring paramedic students to achieve clinical competency.
