David Klass

David Klass is a Lecturer at the New York Academy of Art specializing in anatomy and figurative sculpture. He graduated from Pratt Institute and supplemented his education at Lyme Academy of Fine Arts, L’Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris, and Repin Academic Institute in St. Petersburg, with additional anatomy studies at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons.

His artistic practice focuses on realistic human and animal forms, exemplified by his 1991 commission from the Metropolitan Museum of Art to create two life-size horses for their Arms and Armor Wing. With over 25 years of teaching experience, he integrates deep anatomical knowledge into art instruction.
