David Julius Ford, Jr. is an Associate Professor and Department Chair of Professional Counseling at Monmouth University. He is a licensed counselor in North Carolina, Virginia, and New Jersey, with expertise in multicultural counseling, HIV/AIDS advocacy, and intersectional research involving race, gender, and sexual orientation.
- Education: Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision (Old Dominion University), M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Wake Forest University), B.A. in Psychology (Wake Forest University)
His scholarly interests focus on Black men in higher education, cultural sensitivity in mentoring, and the intersection of spirituality with sexual identity. He is actively involved in professional associations such as the American Counseling Association and the National Career Development Association.
Scientific awards include the NBCC Minority Fellowship Program Doctoral Fellowship (2013-2014, Inaugural cohort).
