His work integrates meteorology, engineering, and socio-economic analysis to assess resilience in infrastructure. He holds a PhD, MSc, and BSc in Environmental Science from the University of Birmingham.
Research Interests:
- Climate change effects on transportation networks
- Weather-related transport failures and adaptation strategies
- Resilience of rail and road systems under extreme conditions
- Socio-economic dimensions of infrastructure vulnerability
Publications: Over 15 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, including contributions to the UK’s Third Climate Change Risk Assessment. Recent work addresses heat-related rail buckling, flood risks in high-speed rail systems, and extreme weather impacts on UK transport infrastructure.
Awards: Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, reflecting his teaching excellence in modules like “Meteorological Applications and Services.”
Teaching: Module leader for MSc courses in meteorological applications, emphasizing practical and theoretical linkages between weather and infrastructure resilience.
