معرفی
David Jackson serves as Professor of Human Immunology and Principal Investigator of the Lymphatic Trafficking Research Group at the MRC Translational Immune Discovery Unit (MRC TIDU), part of the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (WIMM) at the University of Oxford. He holds college affiliations with Harris Manchester College and Wolfson College, and maintains active research collaborations across Oxford, the UK, and internationally including institutions in Leeds, Zurich, and Cologne.
His educational background includes a B.A. in Natural Sciences and Ph.D. in Biochemistry. Key research interests focus on:
- Molecular mechanisms of immune cell trafficking via lymphatic vessels
- Tumor metastasis through lymphatic systems
- Hyaluronan biology and LYVE-1 receptor function
- Lymphatic involvement in inflammation, immunity, and cancer
- Cardiac repair mechanisms post-myocardial infarction
Analysis of recent publications reveals consistent focus on LYVE-1 receptor structural biology, leukocyte transmigration mechanics, and lymphatic metastasis pathways. His work integrates advanced techniques including super-resolution imaging, X-ray crystallography, and transgenic mouse models to investigate hyaluronan-mediated cell trafficking.
Scientific recognition includes:
- Aselli Award Winner (2023)
Professor Jackson actively mentors researchers, with notable lab alumni including Tess Stanly, Suneale Banerji, and Kayla Holder. His research is primarily funded by the Medical Research Council UK, with investigations spanning inflammatory bowel disease, transplant rejection mechanisms, and cardiac lymphatic remodeling. The Lymphatic Trafficking Research Group maintains strong international collaborations with leading scientists in biophysics, dermatology, and developmental biology.
