His research focuses on Latin epic and didactic poetry of the Golden/Silver Ages, with special emphasis on spoken Latin pedagogy. Dr. White served as Latin Orator for the Classical Association of the Middle West and South (2018–2022), delivering annual performances of classical texts in spoken form. His recent work explores intertextual connections between Columella's agricultural treatises and Vergilian Georgics, as well as Horatian sermons' treatment of urban/rural life contrasts.
Key contributions include entries in The Virgil Encyclopedia (2013) and translations of French Romantic texts (2010). His presentations at Paideia Institute's Living Latin events (2019–2021) demonstrate innovative approaches to revitalizing classical languages through immersive spoken practice. Current projects include a commentary on Columella's Res Rustica Book 10.
Dr. White actively reviews academic works for Classical Journal Online and Bryn Mawr Classical Review, maintaining rigorous engagement with contemporary scholarship. His teaching philosophy integrates modern pedagogical methods with traditional textual analysis, emphasizing spoken Latin's role in deepening students' engagement with classical literature.
