David J. Washburn, ScD, SM, is a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program in the Department of Health Policy and Management at Tulane University's Weatherhead School of Public Health. He holds a Doctor of Science and Master of Science from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a BA in International Relations from Brown University.
Research Focus: Dr. Washburn investigates critical public health challenges including health equity barriers, healthcare access limitations, socioeconomic impacts on health outcomes, immigration-related health disparities, and global health system strengthening. His work integrates policy analysis with on-ground implementation insights.

- Fulbright Garcia Robles Public Policy Scholar (2007)
Professional Experience: Before academia, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras and led capital planning initiatives for the San Francisco VA Medical Center and Stanford Health Care. He has managed over $8M in research grants/contracts across federal, state, and local projects.
