David J. Reich

David J. Reich is Chief of the Division of Multiorgan Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery and Professor and Vice Chair of Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine. He is an internationally recognized leader in organ transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery with expertise in clinical practice, healthcare administration, medical education, and scientific research. He specializes in abdominal organ transplantation and complex liver surgery.

Dr. Reich's research focuses on organ donation, donation after cardiac death, organ donor pool expansion, machine perfusion of donor organs, artificial liver support systems, transplantation immunology, hepatocellular carcinoma treatments, healthcare economics, and medical education. His recent work includes investigations into cellular therapy to enhance machine perfusion of donor organs and policy development for organ allocation.

His clinical practice is affiliated with St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.
